On September 27, 2018, a pitching event was held in Nicosia, where 10 women entrepreneurs presented their innovative business ideas in front of investors and entrepreneurs from Cyprus and Europe. The event was organized by the NGO Center for Competence Development Cyprus (COMCY) with the significant support of the NGO IDEA Incubator – Accelerator.
The event was held in the framework of the South Eastern Europe Women Business Angels Network (SEEWBAN) EU Project, which offers support to women’s businesses. Twenty women would-be and current entrepreneurs, participated in a series of seminars on developing their skill and competences for an effective pitch.
Initially, Mr. Giorgos Giorgakis, Director of the NGO – COMCY, welcomed and thanked all the attendees. Afterwards, project partners representatives from abroad, presented good practices in relation to the SEEWBAN project. Finally, the women entrepreneurs had the opportunity to present their ideas, aiming on achieving collaborations with the present investors. Following this, a networking event was held for the attendees.
The main purpose of the SEEWBAN project, is to disseminate experiences and provide advice on developing a Women Business Angels (WBA) network in the European Union. The project’s consortium is composed by organisations from 7 European countries (Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy and the United Kingdom – Scottish Region).
Cyprus is represented by the NGO Centre for Comppetence Development Cyprus (COMCY) and the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
Various representatives of the project’s consortium as well as business angels and investors from Cyprus and EU countries attended the event.
