MARINELA SAIKOVA

What can you tell us about your company?

The firm began operations in 1995 by managing the implementation of orders, and later on started organizing the production, fulfilling all the production steps and carrying out services accompanying the main activity.

What or who inspired you to set up your own company?

The need to provide self-employment, to open working positions and get revenues.

What were the challenges that you faced when you decided to launch your company? Did you have any support from organisations?

Setting up a company is not difficult from a legal point of view, but its physical existence and real business operations are pose serious challenges. Any new company is practically placed in the uncompetitive environment of big companies with no capacity to compete. The situation is further aggravated by bureaucracy, which is the same for small-scale firms and newcomers, and for the big companies with enormous administrative capacity.

Entrepreneurship is still often considered a man’s territory; what advice would you give young women who want to become an entrepreneur?

They should have a very good idea, to consider the circumstances and detains very carefully, not to overestimate themselves, to take up jobs which are in their power, to spend in accordance with the current financial situation and not in accordance with their expectations, loans and leases – only as a last resort, to be aware that during the first few years they have to sacrifice their personal lives.

What is your favourite part of your job?

You are the person who decided how to organise your time and place and the way you work.
